from the Tennessean, General manager David Poile said Wednesday the Predators won't re-sign center Mike Sillinger or goalie Chris Mason before the end of the month, meaning both players will be able to accept offers from other teams at that point. "I talked to Mike and his agent and told them we'd like to see what's available on the first of July,'' Poile said. "You never say never, and maybe we'll revisit things the first week of July if the opportunity presents itself. "But with the NHL's new system, there's way more free agency and there's earlier free agency than in the past. We have holes like everyone else, but by the same token, I'd like the opportunity to enter July with some flexibility.''read on
