Can this city truly embrace a Bruins’ team that can’t beat its opponent to a pulp if all else fails? Well, my guess is if this team had buried any of the 8-10 quality scoring chances that the Big, Bad Blues allowed in the first period of Game 7 last June, the parade would have been just as big as it was in 2011.

Taking a pound of flesh while winning feels great, and it’s a nice balm for your fans when you lose. But playing a granite-fisted style doesn’t isn’t an option for this team right now. It’s best the B’s try and win on skill and talent and work ethic. And, by the trade deadline, go out and get some more.
