- On his way out the door in Columbus, free-agent-to-be Sergei Bobrovsky is carrying the Blue Jackets up into the playoff bracket. Since March 5 he is 9-2-0 with a 1.27 goals-against average, a 0.957 save percentage and four shutouts in his last seven games.
- Sabres defenseman Rasmus Ristolainen has high-end offensive skills. But that minus-42 rating to go with 39 points it utterly horrifying. Ristolainen has earned poor possession metrics throughout his 5 1/2 seasons, so it's safe to assume he could find his name in trade rumors this summer.
- Anaheim figures to promote AHL coach Dallas Eakins to the NHL post, replacing Randy Carlyle. Eakins failed in Edmonton during his previous NHL gig, bit everybody fails in Edmonton.
