Eric Staal strolled past Devan Dubnyk in the dressing room Tuesday night after the Wild goaltender posted another shutout in another dominant defensive performance by the hottest team in the Western Conference.

“Dooby, you look like you know what you’re doing out there,” Staal teased.

“Didn’t have to do much,” Dubnyk shrugged.

Rim shot or mic drop, take your pick.

It has been that kind of December for the surging Wild, winners of eight straight following its 2-0 dissection of the Colorado Avalanche at the Xcel Energy Center.

The Wild have points in nine consecutive games since the calendar flipped as they feather a nest in second place behind first-place Chicago in the Central Division, with four games in hand on the businesslike Blackhawks and four games they have yet to play against their archnemesis.
