Michael Del Zotto's season is over after the Philadelphia Flyers defenceman underwent wrist surgery earlier this week.

Flyers general manager Ron Hextall confirmed the news Sunday, giving Del Zotto a three-to-four month timeframe for recovery.

The 25-year-old sustained the injury in the Flyers' 2-1 loss to the New Jersey Devils on Feb. 13. He scored four goals and added nine assists in 52 games this season.

Del Zotto is in the first year of a two-year, $7.75 million deal.
