If the Conference Finals are proving anything, it’s that smaller market teams can still bring the heat. There has been no drop-off in intensity in the penultimate round of the 2016 NHL Playoffs, with each series leveled at 1-1 through their first two respective games. Action now shifts to Tampa and San Jose for Games 3 and 4 this week, and for those hoping to attend an upcoming game, the Lightning and Blues are experiencing similar ticket prices on the secondary market.
The Lightning will host Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Pittsburgh Penguins Wednesday night. With inventory quickly dissipating in the hours before puck drop, resale tickets on TiqIQ are currently averaging $258.65. The cheapest tickets for Game 3 are now listed from $124. Game 4 on Friday is slightly more expensive at an average price of $317.65 and the get-in price starting at $170.
For the traveling fan, many flight and hotel options exist in the Tampa area for both games this week. On Hipmunk.com, flights to Tampa can be arranged from anywhere in the world, while hotels around Amalie Arena can be found starting from $80 each night this week.
The Sharks set to welcome the St. Louis Blues for Games 3 and 4 of the Western Conference Finals on Thursday and Saturday, respectively. Game 3 will be the cheapest game during the Conference Final round, with tickets averaging $206.89 and the get-in price starting from $108. A prominent bump in price will occur during Game 4, however, as tickets currently own a secondary market average of $297.18 and a get-in price of $147.
Much like in Tampa, traveling deals are abundant in San Jose for Games 3 and 4 at SAP Center. San Jose hotels on Hipmunk start from $118 per night through Sunday.
With a Game 5 now set in stone in each conference, ticket prices on the secondary market differ considerably in Pittsburgh and St. Louis. Game 5 Penguins vs. Lightning tickets are averaging $227.66 on the secondary market, 34.5% cheaper than that of the Blues-Sharks, which owns a $347.32 average. However, the get-in price is near identical for both games, with the cheapest ticket at Consol Energy Center listed at $129 and the asking price starting from $137 at Scottrade Center.
