LA Kings Sign Jack Campbell To A Two-Year Extension

LOS ANGELES – The LA Kings have signed goaltender Jack Campbell to a two-year contract extension, Kings Vice President and General Manager Rob Blake announced today. His contract will go into effect at the start of the 2020-21 season and carries an AAV of $1.65 million.

The 27-year-old Campbell (born Jan. 9, 1992) appeared in 31 games last season with the Kings, where he posted a 10-14-1 record in a career-high 25 starts, a .928 save percentage, 2.30 goals-against average and two shutouts. Among goalies who appeared in at least 25 games last season, the Port Huron, Mich. native ranked third in save percentage and fifth in goals-against average.

Acquired by the Kings from the Dallas Stars on June 25, 2016 in exchange for defenseman Nick Ebert, Campbell has appeared in 38 career NHL games, where he holds a 12-15-3 record, .925 save percentage, 2.41 goals-against average and two shutouts. The Stars initially drafted Campbell in the first-round (11th overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
