from Matthew DeFranks of the Dallas Morning News,
Five weeks before the Stars' 2-1 win over the Canucks on Saturday afternoon, after an embarrassing loss in Detroit to the then-last-place Red Wings, Stars captain Jamie Benn sat in his dressing room stall and stewed. The goals weren't coming. Neither were the road wins.
So Benn looked internally for answers. He said everything in his personal game could get better. He said he needed to work harder to get there. He labeled his play as "pretty bad, just as simple as that."
That Jamie Benn hasn't been present recently.
With the game-tying goal and the assist on the game-winning goal on Saturday, Benn posted his second straight two-point effort. He has scored four goals in the last five games and is suddenly on pace for a 33-goal season.
