It's the Sunday before the trade deadline, but rumors are bleeding into each other

I don't know if this is a good sign or a bad sign, but this 48-games-in-99-nights demolion derby's worth of a season's trade deadline hits on April 3rd, and perhaps due to the crunches in the standings in both conferences and the fact that the cap's going down this summer (though it's assumed to be a one-time drop due to ever-increasing revenues via increases in ticket prices), the Ottawa Sun's Bruce Garrioch's pre-trade deadline rumor column is usually filled with oodles of scintilliating talk...

But if you read Comcast Sportsnet Bay Area's Kevin Kurz's story about Ryane Clowe, Saturday's Satellite Hotstove, or if you know that the Sabres and Flames are in "sell" ode, that the Islanders are doing their usual, "We have some of the most appealing players that could hit the market, but we want to re-sign them!" springtime inking of players to extensions, you've heard that the Rangers want Dan Boyle and you've heard that the Leafs still want Roberto Luongo (and/or Mikka Kiprusoff, if he's willing to show up?), well...

You're left with this and a note that Flames forward Curtis Glencross would be a great pick-up for a team looking for a big forward with hands (cough hey Ken Holland cough):

Sabres GM Darcy Regier could be busy. He has a lot on the table: Goalie Ryan Miller, defenceman Robin Regehr and winger Drew Stafford may all be moved by Wednesday with the franchise stumbling. With a limited no- move clause -- a list of eight teams where he'd wouldn't report -- Miller can have a say in his destination. Sources say the Lightning have shown interest because Anders Lindback (before he got injured) hasn't been the answer. However, there is talk Miller would rather end up on the west coast. The Sabres haven't ruled out a contract extension for Regehr, but they've had plenty of interest. As for Stafford, he's the guy Regier is trying to move the most, but he did deal defenceman Jordan Leopold to the Blues for draft picks.

Continued, but, again, it's stuff we've heard before.
