from Joe Rexrode of The Tennessean,
Nashville Predators co-owner and Chairman Tom Cigarran anticipates wide-ranging benefits from the team’s first Stanley Cup Final.
“We have already gone from an expansion franchise from the South to an organization that the National Hockey League is very proud of, and very happy that we’re one of their member teams,” Cigarran said this week.
“So I expect that we’ll have more influence at the national level than we’ve had before. The publicity for the league has been terrific. And NBC is very happy with the way we’ve managed this process, the fans in the street and the whole thing Sean (Henry) has done with the famous artists singing the national anthem. Everybody’s watching the anthem, you know? And it just adds to the game. They take shots of Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman jumping up and down in the crowd, hugging each other.
"So this is now a cool place. And that helps recruiting companies and all the other benefits. It has been a great place to raise a family. The tax situation is good. People who live in Tennessee are hard-working, great people. So if you’re thinking about moving your company, our stock has gone way up.”
