Florida was outshot by Ottawa, 46-40, but the Panthers beat the Senators, 5-3, Tuesday. It was the first NHL game in which both teams had at least 40 shots on goal since March 6 last year, when the Flyers beat the Devils in overtime and outshot them, 44-41. It was the first non-overtime game in which both teams had at least 40 shots since Feb. 7, 2006, when the Panthers shut out the Capitals, 5-0, though Washington had a 44-40 edge in shots.
