from Steve Simmons of the Toronto Sun,
- Word around is that Mike Babcock wasn’t happy with the kicking upstairs of Lou Lamoriello as Leafs general manager. As singular as Babcock and Lamoriello may be, the two had an excellent relationship in their three years working together … Ask yourself this, Leaf fans. If someone had told you three years ago, that the Leafs would be in the playoffs twice, had a record 100-plus point season, had a bevy of young exciting players and were on their way — how quickly would you have signed up on that? And for that, you might have built a statue for Lamoriello, not show him the door.
- Not advocating this, but if someone licked me in a hockey game, I’d bite their face.
