from Steve Simmons of the Toronto Sun,
- It’s little wonder the NHL doesn’t want to play games in Canadian cities with empty buildings. That’s $2-3 million in hockey revenue a game not coming in when the seats are unoccupied.
- Jack Eichel has yet to play a game for the Vegas Golden Knights and that team is already hanging around first place in the Pacific Division. When Eichel returns and Max Pacioretty comes back with his wrist repaired, Vegas is going to be a tough out in the Western Conference. The team you don’t want to play in the playoffs.
- In Crosby’s three Stanley Cup wins in Pittsburgh, he has scored 77 points in 72 playoff games. In Patrick Kane’s three Cup wins in Chicago, he scored 70 points in 68 games. Anze Kopitar has 46 points in 46 games in the two Los Angeles Cup runs. In 109 playoff games with the Maple Leafs, Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner, John Tavares and William Nylander have combined to score just 80 points, none of them close to a point a game in the post-season.
