TORONTO (October 7, 2016) Saturday. It’s going to be a good day. Canada’s love affair with the game of hockey continues Saturday, Oct. 15 as Hockey Night in Canada hits the ice for its 64th season. Headlined by a combination of both new and familiar faces, captivating storytelling, analysis and interviews, and the biggest star of the night - the games themselves - hockey’s show of record is set to deliver all of the memorable moments and greatest stories from the 2016-17 NHL season.
This season, Hockey Night in Canada’s 94-game schedule will be presented across Sportsnet, CBC, City, OMNI, Rogers NHL GameCentre LIVE™ and Sportsnet NOW. On Oct. 15, the first Saturday of the season, Hockey Night in Canada delivers four NHL games starting at 6 p.m. ET / 3 p.m. PT with a special one-hour Hockey Central Saturday pre-game show. Game 1 matchups include an all-Canadian battle between the Montreal Canadiens and Ottawa Senators, an Original Six matchup featuring the Toronto Maple Leafs hosting the Boston Bruins and a Central division showdown with the Winnipeg Jets visiting the Wild in Minnesota (7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT). In Game 2 of the doubleheader, the Vancouver Canucks host the Calgary Flames (10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT). (See below for full broadcast schedule).
The Saturday Lineup
As announced earlier this year, Ron MacLean returns to host hockey’s biggest night alongside David Amber and panelists Elliotte Friedman, Kelly Hrudey, and Nick Kypreos. MacLean will host Game 1 with Amber hosting Game 2, together guiding Canadians through the action-packed broadcast.

In addition to the return of After Hours, the second game of the doubleheader will also feature former NHLer Louie DeBrusk making his Hockey Night in Canada debut in the broadcast booth as a game analyst for the western games every Saturday night during the season.
