T.J. Oshie responded on Sunday to criticism from Jeremy Roenick and other former Team USA stars in the aftermath of an ugly 3-0 loss to Team Europe in the World Cup opener.

“Those guys know how to win,” Oshie said. “Those guys proved that they can win.”

“They’re supporting us, but sometimes you need to hear some hard words to get you going,” the Capitals’ winger continued. “Those will definitely help.”

A handful of former American hockey stars, including Jeremy Roenick, Mike Modano and Brett Hull, voiced disappointment with Saturday's miscue-riddled at the Air Canada Centre. Roenick’s criticism, though, was the harshest.
