The National Hockey League has suspended goaltender Ray Emery for three games after his slash on Canadiens forward Maxim Lapierre on Saturday.

TORONTO (Feb. 12, 2007) – Ottawa Senators goaltender Ray Emery has been suspended for three games, without pay, as a result of a slashing incident during NHL game #835 against the Montreal Canadiens on February 10.
Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, and based on his average annual salary, Emery will forfeit $14,839.56. The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
Emery was assessed a minor penalty for slashing Canadiens player Maxim Lapierre at 7:52 of the second period.
Emery will miss Senators’ games Feb. 14 against Florida, Feb. 17 against Atlanta and Feb. 20 against Edmonton. He will be eligible to return Feb. 22 at Buffalo.
