(Oct. 4, 2019) – St. Louis Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today the team has signed forward Brayden Schenn to an eight-year contract extension worth $52 million ($6.5 million annual average value). Armstrong and Schenn will be available to the media following Blues practice this morning. Practice is scheduled for 11 a.m. at Centene Community Ice Center.

Schenn, 28, was originally acquired by the Blues via trade from the Philadelphia Flyers on June 23, 2017. In his first season with the team, 2017-18, the 6’1, 200-pound forward logged a career-high 28 goals and 70 points overall. Last season, Schenn posted 54 points in the regular season and 12 points in the postseason, helping the Blues capture the 2019 Stanley Cup Championship.

An All-Star in 2018, Schenn is currently in his ninth full NHL season. Overall, the Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, native has appeared in 588 career regular-season games, including 79 or more in five of the last six campaigns. He has amassed 372 points (154 goals, 218 assists) during the regular season, as well as 26 points (eight goals, 18 assists) in 50 career postseason games.
