from Eric Francis of the Calgary Sun,
If you’re a Calgary Flames fan and you feel like the Honda Centre curse is on the verge of being broken, you’re not alone.
Even Anaheim Ducks defenceman Kevin Bieksa feels the same way.
“There’s a good chance they will win a game in our building, especially if the series goes long,” he said, hours before the puck dropped on an entertaining series opener.
“It can’t turn into a bigger thing. It can’t mean something more than just one win. It can’t mean the whole series momentum is shifting, we have to be strong enough to know, ‘who really cares about the streak? It’s one loss.’”
For a sizeable portion of Thursday’s opener it appeared his Ducks would get a chance to try stomaching their first home loss to the Flames in 27 outings.
Alas, the curse lives on. Barely.
