Book It, These Teams Will Not Win The Stanley Cup

10/08/2021 at 7:00am EDT

There are 32 teams in the NHL which now includes the Seattle Kraken who will officially kick off there season next Tuesday. The Kraken will also join my list of teams who have no sot at raising the Stanley Cup in mid-June, 2022. Seattle will be a fun team to watch this year but their expansion draft was made up of younger players with an eye towards the future and not a win now scenario.

You have a better chance to win at online casino glück than picking the following list of teams to win the Stanley Cup this season.

At the top of this list is the Buffalo Sabres who are in complete disarray. We've read enough about Jack Eichel to last a year but the bottom line is the Sabres are a bad team even if Jack Eichel was playing instead of being in limbo regarding neck surgery.

Their goaltending duo of Craig Anderson (age 40) and journeyman Dustin Tokarski who has won 12 NHL games in 47 appearances.

Buffalo's offense will be an issue, the defense has improved but not enough to even get the Sabres into the playoff picture. The Sabres could be the worst team in the NHL this season.

Another team very far away from raising the Cup is the Arizona Coyotes. The made some signings of either journeymen players or those trying to get their career on track.

Defensively they added offense defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere but they just do not have enough firepower to compete with the high echelon teams in the West.

Another Western Conference team not close to celebrating a Stanley Cup Final series win is the San Jose Sharks. You'd think with defenseman named Brent Burns, Erik Karlsson and Marc-Edouard Vlasic they would be in pretty good shape, add forwards Logan Couture, Tomas Hertl and Timo Meier to the mix and you'd say they have a shot.

However, the cloud of Evander Kane hovers over the whole organization. Not knowing if he will be suspended, traded or just released puts a big burden on the Sharks. The quicker San Jose can rid themselves of Kane, the better off they will be.

Some of you may be surprised I am including the Pittsburgh Penguins to this list. Starting the season without Sidney Crosby, out a least a week and Evgeny Malkin, out with a knee injury until January, really hurts the Penguins.

Goaltending was a big minus for the Penguins in the playoffs last season and there are doubts it could be another down year for the Pittsburgh goalies.

Adding all of this together, the Penguins are on a down turn and rebuild talk may start half way through this season. They have no shot at lifting the Cup this year.

Other teams come to mind who could be included to this list, the Nashville Predators, Detroit Red Wings ( I am staying away from them for obvious reasons) and Montreal Canadiens. Also you could ad the Philadelphia Flyers, Los Angeles Kings, Anaheim Ducks and the Vancouver Canucks.

As they say for these teams, there is always next year.
