Antoine Vermette Suspended Ten Games

NEW YORK (Feb. 16, 2017) – Anaheim Ducks forward Antoine Vermette has been automatically suspended for 10 games, without pay, for violating Rule 40.3 (Physical Abuse of Officials) during NHL Game No. 840 in Minnesota on Tuesday, Feb. 14, the National Hockey League announced today.

The incident occurred at 7:33 of the third period. Vermette was assessed a game misconduct for abuse of officials.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and, based on his average annual salary, Vermette will forfeit $97,222.22. The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
