from USA TODAY,
For the second consecutive Christmas, USA TODAY Sports' NHL staff ventured to the North Pole, where it compiled a wish list for every team. Some have realistic gift ideas, while others ... well, we're not sure even Santa Claus can make those dreams come true.
Chicago Blackhawks. More from Jonathan Toews. That the Blackhawks are 22-8-4, ninth in scoring and seventh in goals against, seems like a minor miracle because Toews, who dealt with a back injury, has four goals (on 63 shots) and 14 points in 25 games. They will need their two-way center at his best as the season progresses. (Jimmy Hascup)
Minnesota Wild. Hockey gods smiling on Bruce Boudreau. He is at it again: winning in the regular season. This team (sixth in offense, first in goals against, 49.8% possession) might not be the most talented Boudreau has coached, but it is more complete than it might appear on paper. Now, Boudreau just needs some playoff luck. (JH)
