from Scott Burnside of ESPN,
So little time left in the NHL season, yet so much remains undecided.
Thursday was a busy night, but despite 13 games on tap we are left today with zero playoff matchups having been established. The Eastern Conference remains unsettled, with the Philadelphia Flyers now on the outside looking in after losing in overtime at home to the Toronto Maple Leafs, while the Boston Bruins clobbered the Detroit Red Wings, 5-2. Those three teams are vying for two playoff spots and are separated by one point. Philadelphia is the only one of the three with two games remaining.
The Dallas Stars and St. Louis Blues both kept winning and remain tied with identical records atop the Central Division, in what might be the most important division race in the league.
The Los Angeles Kings edged the Anaheim Ducks 2-1 to creep ahead of the Ducks by two points atop the Pacific although Anaheim has two games remaining to just one for Los Angeles.
So, last chance to get it right, my friends. Which two of those Eastern will be playing next week, who wins the Central, and who wins the Pacific?
I'll go first: Boston and Detroit are going to hang on, Dallas will own the Central and the Kings are going to stay just ahead of Anaheim. You heard it here first.
