When the word speed is mentioned, one thing comes to mind; horses. Over the years, horses have been trained and put on race courses for racing contests. Horse racing has evolved into a lucrative sport loved by many.

The surface on which a horse will be racing matters a lot as it determines whether the horse will win a race or not. Racing surfaces differ in their make. There are dry racing courses which are best known as good-to-firm or firm surfaces. They are highly preferred by daintier horses. The fastest horse speeds are recorded on these surfaces.

There are soft grass racing surfaces which give horses a firm grip on the ground and allow them to maximize their sprinting power. If you’ll be betting on a horse, it’s important that you find out the racing surface it best performs on to increase your winning odds.

2.Familiarize Yourself With The Racing Language

There are several terms that are commonly used in horse racing which you have to familiarize yourself with for you to fully master this sport. Here are a few examples; Action means how a horse moves. Familiarizing yourself with the trainers helps you differentiate beginners from seasoned professionals and you can know where the value for money is when you place a bet on a horse.
