Peter Chiarelli explains that the trades he made on Sunday weren't 'knee-jerk reactions' and he felt that it was imperative to shore up the Oilers' defence at this critical point of the season. Chiarelli also says he spoke with Connor McDavid last year about acquiring Brandon Manning and he had no problem with it.
