The Tampa Bay Lighting at home tonight hosting the New York Islanders in game 5 of their Stanley Cup Semi-Finals series.

Tonight's winner will be a win away from the Stanley Cup Final.

Series Scenarios
* When a best-of-seven series is tied 2-2, the winner of Game 5 holds an all-time record of 217-58 (.789); that record changes to 47-15 (.758) when considering series in the Conference Finals/Semifinals.

* The Lightning have an all-time series record of 5-6 (.455) when tied 2-2 in a best-of-seven series. When Tampa Bay is tied 2-2 in a best-of-seven series and win Game 5, they hold an all-time series record of 3-2 (.600).

* The Islanders have an all-time series record of 7-6 (.538) when tied 2-2 in a best of seven series. When New York is tied 2-2 in a best-of-seven series and win Game 5, they hold an all-time series record of 6-1 (.857).

* The Lightning are 14-12 (.538) in Game 5s in franchise history, including a 1-1 mark in 2021. The Islanders are 17-22 (.436) in all-time Game 5 appearances, including a 2-0 mark in 2021.



Pre-game
* Lightning forward Brayden Point (7-2—9 in 7 GP) can become the second player in NHL history with a goal streak of eight or more contests in a playoff year, following Reggie Leach who had a 10-game run in 1976 (w/ PHI).

* Islanders forward Josh Bailey (16-34—50 in 68 GP) needs two playoff points to tie Duane Sutter (22-30—52 in 120 GP) for 11th place on the franchise’s all-time list. Stefan Persson (7-50—57 in 102 GP) ranks 10th with 57.

* Tampa Bay owns a playoff record of 12-0 in the contest following a loss dating to Game 4 of the 2019 First Round, which is the longest such run in NHL history. Nikita Kucherov (5-18—23) leads Lightning players with 23 points in those contests, while Andrei Vasilevskiy has backstopped Tampa Bay to victory in all 12 games (1.52 GAA, .942 SV%, 2 SO).

* The Islanders own an all-time record of 4-5 in Game 5 during a Conference Finals/Semifinals, including a 2-1 victory over the Lightning in the 2020 Eastern Conference Final in which Jordan Eberle scored the double-overtime winner on Andrei Vasilevskiy to stave off elimination.
