Vancouver, B.C. - Vancouver Canucks General Manager Jim Benning announced today that the club has acquired forward Tanner Pearson from the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for defenceman Erik Gudbranson.

Pearson, 26, has split the season between the Los Angeles Kings (one assist in 17 games) and the Pittsburgh Penguins (9-5-14 in 44 games). He was acquired by the Penguins earlier this season on November 14 in exchange for Carl Hagelin.

In 2017.18, Pearson ranked sixth on the Kings in scoring with 40 points (15-25-40). He was also one of four Kings skaters to appear in all 82 games. The season prior, the 6-1, 200-pound forward had 44 points (24-20-44) and set NHL career highs in goals, points and shots on goal (127).

Pearson has collected 158 points (78-80-158) in 369 NHL games. He also has 15 points (5-10-15) in 30 Stanley Cup Playoff games and helped the Kings win the Stanley Cup in 2014.

The Kitchener, Ontario, native was selected by Los Angeles in the first round, 30th overall, at the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.
