A Six-Year Deal For Brock Nelson And The New York Islanders

via the New York Islanders.

The New York Islanders announced today that forward Brock Nelson has agreed to terms on a six-year contract.

Nelson, 27, had a career year this past season with 53 points (25 goals and 28 assists) and also posted a single season best, +20 rating. This was the second straight season, and third time in his six-year pro career, that Nelson has played in all 82 regular season games. A native of Warroad, MN, Nelson has 241 career points (124 goals, 117 assists) in 480 National Hockey League games, all with the Islanders. The team selected Nelson in the first round (30th overall) at the 2010 NHL Draft.

There is a full No Trade Clause in years 1 and 2 of this contract - and a modified NTC for the last 4 (which was not defined)

I think he would have gotten 7 mm in UFA - 6 years at 6 MM is a good deal for both sides.  Nice to see the Islanders retain him.  He did much better with Barry Trotz.  If the team can surround him with good wingers ......
