You’re the biggest Wing fan you know. You’re obsessed and you’re pathetic. Your mood is entirely dictated by whether the Wings win or lose.

And that’s in October.

Your relationships suffer. Your work is such an afterthought that the fact that you’re employed borders on the laughable.

If you had to choose between a victory tonite and some things in life that others would view as “the most important”...well, you’d waffle. You might choose to live to 80 instead of 55, if some frigging wizard was making you choose between long life and a second round victory, but it wouldn’t be automatic.

There’s just a few of us you know. Because no one else understands what this is like. If you’ve read this blog in any sort of consistent fashion then you are past the point of normalcy. You’re not just a “fan.”

We typically put a jersey number up here to signify how many victories remain until the 12th Cup is ours. We would normally hang a Howe on you right about now.

But tonite isn’t about Gordie, as strange as that sounds.

It’s about you. About all of you who live and die for this team and the guy who made you feel that way. Tonite he’s gonna bring it home. Somehow, his will, his character and the impact he’s had on this team will help them get this job done.
