from Craig Custance of The Athletic,

“What’s impressed me is he wants the puck on his stick,” Blashill told The Athletic after the second game. “He by no means is a one-dimensional scorer. Certainly, I think he can score. He wants the puck on his stick. He wants to make plays. He’s got excellent edges and he’s strong on his skates for a young guy. That all puts him in position to be a real good player for us at some point.”...

“There seems to be a dynamic aspect to his game. That’s what we all look for in those guys,” said an NHL scout. “That’s the first time I’ve seen him play. He is noticeable, he is offensive and it appears he has a skating advantage over a lot of people and has the ability to turn the switch and go. Everything was pretty positive for me on him.”...

“He looks good to me,” said an NHL assistant coach. “He looks like a pro. He plays hard too. I’m looking forward to seeing him in an exhibition game.”

Said another coach: “You saw the skill. You heard a lot about his shot and he scored on an absolute bomb on the power play. He looks good.”

About Abel to Yzerman

Welcome to Abel to Yzerman, a Red Wing blog since 1977. No other site on the internet has better-researched, fact-laden and better prepared discussions than A2Y. Re-phrase: we do little research, find facts and stats highly overrated and claim little to no preparation. There are 19 readers of A2Y. No more, no less. All of them, except maybe one, are juvenile in nature. Reminding them of that in the comment section will only encourage them to prove that.
