Regular Season Predictions: East Conference

I am finishing my pre-season predictions by listing an order of finish in the East Conference.  I have already done this for the West Conference and for the East Conference divisions the Metropolitan Division and the Atlantic Division.  The blurbs for these teams are in the division write-ups.

1. Washington Capitals
2. Tampa Bay Lightning
3. Pittsburgh Penguins
4. Florida Panthers
5. Montreal Canadiens
6. New York Rangers
7. Philadelphia Flyers
8. Boston Bruins

9. Detroit Red Wings
10. New York Islanders
11. Ottawa Senators
12. Buffalo Sabres
13. Carolina Hurricanes
14. New Jersey Devils
15. Columbus Blue Jackets
16. Toronto Maple Leafs

I don’t get why you’re so high on Florida?  They lost Huberdeau for at least half the season and Lou is getting old.  Who’s their backup?  They don’t have the depth to replace Huberdeau either.

Pretty sure you’re going to look silly predicting the Leafs to finish last.  Turn the game on and watch s little.  You might learn a thing or two about hockey to support your posts.

I wonder if Matthews will score 4 goals in every Toronto loss.  Hell of a way to start a career

Top 3 are pretty much consensus, and 4-10 is a second tier full of question marks and this looks like a reasonable order.  Seems like which goalie is having the best year might decide several spots.

Unabashedly rooting for Mrazek & the Wings, and trying to get used to being an underdog.

Philly finishes higher than Rangers (or miss playoffs)

4-12 will probably be decided based on injuries and which does the best at managing it’s roster. Using that as a guideline are the Wings already off to a rough start?
