With the action on pause of 2020, many of us are looking forward to 2021 for all the excitement of an NHL draft. But which players should you be looking out for that can bring value to the league? To help you out, we have compiled a list of players we think you should be aware of that are in the 2020 draft.

The Continuation Of The 2020 Season

The unprecedented times that we are living in at the moment have presented a range of challenges for the sporting industry across the world as questions surrounding the continuation of sporting competitions have been lingering. But with a majority of countries passing through the peak of the virus, the continuation of the 2020 NHL season is looking highly likely in the near future.

With the announcement of the league continuing within the new format, there is many left to still be determined. With several teams permitted to return to the ice in a small number of players, there are still several times to be determined for a return to full play against teams from across the United States. Furthermore, the implementation of the second wave of lockdown measures has meant that the continuation of the season may be pushed back even further until it is safe. However, this has not stopped the early planning for a resumption of play being drafted for fans.

As a result of the ongoing disruption to the league, fans would have noticed the lack of 2020 draft this year. This, as a result, has meant that a majority of hopefuls are yet to see if they are to be picked this season. In addition to this, there are several bookies favourites that many have their bets on that may suffer from this downtime as a result. Because of this, many fans around the world are looking to the 2021 NHL draft to provide us with insight into some of the best players in Hockey this year who can make all the difference in the next hockey season.

The Prospects Of The 2021 Draft

To help you fully understand what is next for the NHL in terms of the players, we have compiled a list of some of the young hopefuls we think you should be aware of in 2020.

Name - AatuRäty,

Position – C

Team- Kärpät

At this point in the season, it looks as though AatuRäty will be the only Finn within the NHL to have his name called first in a draft. With an outstanding performance thus far that is only set to improve with experience the 17-year-old is leading the charge when it comes to new talent in the NHL. With his brother also being drafted into the NHL for the Arizona Cayotes in 2019, this is a family that has a talent for the sport and is predicted to go far in the competition.

Name- Brandt Clarke

Position - RD

Team - Barrie Colts

Another prospect that is set to do well in the 2021 NHL draft is Brandt Clarke. As one of the best defensive players in his league this year, he will be a valuable player for any team that are lucky enough to sign him from the draft. With a total of 57 games played with 38 points scored and 32 assists, he is a 6ft 1 all-rounder that could be a strong asset on the ice and almost certainly one to look out for in the draft.

Name - Zachary Bolduc

Position- C

Team- Rimouski Océanic

Another centre that is proving to be a popular prospect in 2020 is the wonder that is Zachary Bolduc. With a total of 55 games under his belt and 52 points with 30 goals, this is a prospect that is also set to prove highly popular. With two seasons played, this is a player that is used to being under pressure. As a result, this player would have a bright career ahead of him on many NHL teams that are looking for a player that can provide them with the opportunity for goals.
