Thank you for posting Paul. That's really cool
We love you, Canada!
Cool beans! Thank you Canuckians!!
Classy.
Felt a lump in my throat ... very cool. Let's see an American city reciprocate.
While Isles fans can't stand the Leafs and their fans - and their media on duty, we love Canada very much "off duty" :) . What a great gesture - and - I am not surprised either. GOD BLESS THESE FOLKS! One thing Canada and US can totally agree on - Hockey rules! :)
But to that point - singing the national anthem at UBS is a thing again. During the 2021 playoffs at the Coli - the whole crowd sang it loudly as a segment of the fan base (Blue and Orange Army) from what I hear petitioned the fans on social media to make it a tradition. Recently in the last 2 home games (Buffalo and Wash) that I attended - the team asked Jonathan Wibben - the singer - to hold the mike out and encourage the fans to sing. Seems a bit forced - but the fans did a good job on Saturday. The Isles change anthem singers just about every year- to give a new voice and a new talent a chance to shine. Usually singers who want to move up the Billboard charts. Jonathan is a good young guy who loves singing - and I think the team ought to let him sing during the season. I think the crowd singing should be playoffs only - or - organically driven.
I remember fans in Edmonton and other Canadian cities doing this too (singing Canadian Anthem)
The NHL fans are the best in EVERY city!
