The Toronto Maple Leafs Acquire Calle Rosen From Colorado

The Toronto Maple Leafs announced today that the club has acquired defenceman Calle Rosen from the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for goaltender Michael Hutchinson.

Rosen, 26, has appeared in eight games with the Avalanche in 2019-20, recording a pair of assists. In 35 games with the Colorado Eagles (AHL) this season, he has recorded three goals and 12 assists. The Vaxjo, Sweden native has appeared in 16 career NHL regular season games between Toronto and Colorado, registering a goal and three assists. Rosen has registered 83 points (14 goals, 69 assists) in 151 career AHL games between the Toronto Marlies and Eagles. He has six goals and six assists in 23 career playoff games with the Marlies, capturing the Calder Cup with Toronto in 2018.

Rosen was originally signed by the Maple Leafs to a two-year entry-level contract on May 16, 2017. He was traded to Colorado on July 1, 2019 along with Nazem Kadri and a third-round selection in the 2020 NHL Draft in exchange for Tyson Barrie, Alex Kerfoot and a sixth-round pick in 2020.
