The NHL Draft Lottery is May 8th at 7pm.
It doesn't matter, everyone knows the Wings stay in the same slot at best--which is better than moving down like usual.
I believe Detroit has finished in exactly the most likely spot in every year of the draft lottery
They want to wait until next year at least (or perhaps the year after as the real matter will be in a bankruptcy court) to see how the Bally's TV money works out (since they all already got paid the majority of what was owed for this year). Then when the have huge write offs for revenue unrecoverable they can balance that with expansion money.
