Rumblings around the league Thursday:
- Several teams have already shown interest in UFA winger Corey Perry since this buyout took effect Wednesday. There’s mutual interest between Perry and the Nashville Predators, sources say. In fact, I think Nashville was one of the teams on his short list he’d waive his no-trade for when Anaheim was first trying to trade him. Another club that has an interest is the Chicago Blackhawks, according to a source....
- A source suggested to me Thursday that Bergevin has inquired with Philadelphia on left-handed D Shayne Gostisbehere. He’s not alone. After acquiring blueliners Matt Niskanen and Justin Braun over the past week, the Flyers have gotten a number of calls on Gostisbehere. GM Chuck Fletcher is telling teams he’d rather keep him but obviously will listen....
- Don’t count out the Blue Jackets just yet on pending UFA star centre Matt Duchene. A source said Thursday that Columbus remains in the mix. I don’t believe Jackets GM Jarmo Kekalainen has made a firm contract offer yet; I think he’s waiting to know from agent Pat Brisson when and if they would be ready to get serious that way. My sense is the Duchene camp would want to keep Columbus in the fold while also talking to teams to compare what’s out there....
