from Steve Simmons of the Toronto Sun,
- There are hockey people who believe Nikita Kucherov sulked his way out of Hart Trophy contention in the NHL. The Tampa star was the front-runner at the 60-game mark — best player on the best team — but his inside complaining about his contract took up too much of his focus down the stretch than his production did. Kucherov is unlikely to be a Hart finalist now.
- My NHL awards and all-star team ballot has arrived by e-mail. Can’t remember a year more difficult to vote. But I can’t ignore Hall for the Hart, who was a healthy scratch Saturday night but was 42 points better than anyone else on his team in scoring before the final game. How is that not most valuable to your team?
