from Derek Van Diest of the Edmonton Sun,
It’s a crucial stretch for the Oilers, who have won seven consecutive games at Rexall Place and are 10-5-1 at home this season. If the Oilers are going to stay in the hunt, they have to continue to find ways to win at home.
Not all the victories at Rexall Place during the streak have been pretty, which has contributed to McLellan’s frustration, but the important thing is the Oilers are finding ways to pull them out.
If that trend continues through mid-January, things will look good for the club heading out on the road to face the Coyotes and San Jose Sharks (in McLellan’s first trip back to his old stomping ground), then returning home to host the Flames prior to a three-game trip to face the Panthers, Lightning and Dallas Stars.
If the Oilers can make it to the All-star break with their heads still above water, then things could get extremely interesting with the return of McDavid.
