from Larry Brooks of the New York Post,
- When three-on-three is bad, it is horrendous.
Confusing, too, because there will be a fair amount of four-on-four when penalties are killed and four-on-three power plays expire.
Probably shouldn’t be allowed to ice the puck while killing in OT.
You know what would be intriguing? If the home team could choose whether to go to three-on-three or proceed immediately to the shootout at the end of a 60-minute tie.
Of course, by skipping the newest gimmick for the old one, a team would deprive its best players of the opportunity of tacking on goals and assists onto to their stats, so, never mind, no team would do that.
- In selecting Tortorella to lead Team USA, you sure hope that general manager Dean Lombardi’s judgment was more acute than when he regarded Mike Richards as the Kings’ version of Derek Jeter, don’t you?
