North American Broadcast Schedule For The 2020 Stanley Cup Qualifiers

NEW YORK (July 21, 2020) – The National Hockey League today announced the national North American broadcast schedule for the 2020 Stanley Cup Qualifiers™, which begin Saturday, Aug. 1, with a slate of five games across NBC, NBCSN, NHL Network™, NHL.TV™ and NHL Center Ice® in the U.S., and Sportsnet, CBC and TVA Sports in Canada.

The full North American broadcast schedule – including the 2020 Stanley Cup Qualifiers™ (Qualifying Round and Round Robin) and exhibition games (July 28-30) – is available in its entirety here. Starting times and national broadcast information for games listed as TBD will be announced when available. In the U.S., many games will be available in the local market on the team partner regional sports network.

The NHL’s national North American broadcast schedule across NBC Sports, Sportsnet, TVA Sports, NHL Network, NHL.TV and NHL Center Ice includes:

NBC Sports (U.S.)

  • NBC Sports will present up to 120 hours of coverage of the 2020 Stanley Cup Qualifiers™ on NBC, NBCSN and USA Network beginning Aug. 1, highlighted by at least 10 hours of wall-to-wall NHL action each day from Aug. 1-5, comprised of Qualifying Round and Round Robin matchups.
  • Beginning Saturday, Aug. 1, through Wednesday, Aug. 5, NBC Sports will present coverage from at least four games each day across NBC, NBCSN and USA Network, including some games that will be joined in progress.

Sportsnet and TVA (Canada)

  • From Stanley Cup Qualifiers™ to the hoisting of the Stanley Cup, Sportsnet will present every minute of every game from every series, with up to six games a day. Exclusive English-language coverage begins Aug. 1 on Sportsnet, Sportsnet ONE and Sportsnet Radio Network, with livestreaming on SN NOW and NHL LIVE. Sportsnet and SN NOW also will present three all-Canadian exhibition games on July 28 and July 29.
  • TVA Sports is the exclusive French-language broadcaster of the 2020 Stanley Cup Qualifiers™, including all Montreal Canadiens games, as well as all rounds of the 2020 Stanley Cup® Playoffs. From Aug. 1-5, TVA Sports will broadcast up to three games per day for more than 10 hours of daily action and also will present three exhibition games, including Toronto vs. Montreal on July 28 on TVA Sports and TVA Network. In all, TVA Sports will bring fans more than 100 games.

NHL Network (U.S.)

  • NHL Network™ will air a combined seven Stanley Cup Round Robin and Qualifier games in the first five days of the 2020 Stanley Cup® Playoffs. In addition to its live games, NHL Network will provide extensive studio coverage, including NHL Tonight before and after every Stanley Cup® Playoff game. Stanley Cup® Playoff games will re-air on NHL Network, and additional content featuring NHL Network analysts will be featured across NHL Network’s digital platforms. Leading up to the 2020 Stanley Cup® Playoffs, NHL Network will air exhibition games, beginning with the Toronto Maple Leafs against the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday, July 28, at 8 p.m. ET.

NHL Center Ice and NHL.TV (Streaming)

  • From Saturday, Aug. 1, through Wednesday, Aug. 5, 21 games will be available on NHL Center Ice and for streaming on NHL.TV. Local blackouts apply. Additional games after Aug. 5 will be announced if available.
  • Fans can subscribe to NHL.TV™ for $4.99 for all access to exhibition games and qualifying rounds in the U.S. Blackout and restrictions apply. Fans can access or subscribe to NHL.TV™ through the flagship NHL® app, official website, or on all major devices and platforms, including iOS, Android, tvOS, Roku, Xbox, PlayStation, Amazon Fire TV and tablets, and Google’s Chromecast. The 2020 Stanley Cup Qualifiers™ featuring the 16 teams that are contesting best-of-five series to determine the eight teams advancing to the 2020 Stanley Cup® Playoffs, commonly referred to as the Qualifying Round, will begin Saturday, Aug. 1. Each best-of-five series features one set of back-to-back games, occurring between Games 2 and 3, Games 3 and 4, or Games 4 and 5 (if necessary).

The 2020 Stanley Cup Qualifiers™ featuring the top four teams from each conference to determine seeding in the 2020 Stanley Cup® Playoffs, commonly referred to as the Round Robin, will begin Sunday, Aug. 2, with two games – one in each hub city.

The 12 participating Eastern Conference teams will play at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, while the 12 participating Western Conference teams will compete at Rogers Place in Edmonton.
