THREE HARD LAPS: QUICK HITS FROM SATURDAY

* Golden Knights goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury continued to climb the NHL’s all-time wins list with another victory.

BRUINS SCORE ANOTHER LATE WINNER TO SWEEP HOMESTAND, EXTEND STREAKS

David Krejciscored the go-ahead goal with 44.7 seconds remaining in regulation as the Bruins swept their six-game homestand and extended their overall point streak to 19 contests (15-0-4). Boston improved to 42-17-9 (93 points) overall this season and occupies second place in the Atlantic Division standings.

* Krejci became the second Bruins player in as many games to score a winning goal in the final minute of regulation, joining Patrice Bergeron (0-1—1) with 6.7 seconds remaining on March 7 (4-3 W vs. FLA). Boston became the fourth team in NHL history to score a winning goal in the final minute of regulation in consecutive games and first since Detroit from April 15-17, 2006.

* The Bruins’ 19 consecutive contests without a regulation loss is tied for the 12th-longest point streak in NHL history and second-longest in franchise history, behind only a 23-game run from Dec. 22, 1940 – Feb. 23, 1941 (15-0-8). Boston, which swept a homestand of at least six games for the second time in its 95-year history (also 6-0-0 from Feb. 27 – March 10, 2018), posted a home win streak of at least 10 contests for the 11th time in franchise history and first since Oct. 25, 2008 – Jan. 1, 2009 (14-0-0).

* Tuukka Rask (17 saves) improved to 16-0-3 in his last 19 decisions dating to Dec. 29, 2018 (1.94 GAA, .929 SV%, 3 SO). His career high for most consecutive decisions with at least one point is 21, a mark he set from Nov. 29, 2017 – Feb. 6, 2018 (19-0-2).

KUCHEROV SETS SINGLE-SEASON FRANCHISE RECORDS FOR POINTS IN WIN

Nikita Kucherov scored twice to record his NHL-best 109th and 110th points of the season (33-77—110) and help the League-leading Lightning (52-13-4, 108 points) improve to 14-0-0 in their last 14 regular-season games against the Red Wings dating to Feb. 3, 2016 (DET: 0-12-2). Tampa Bay, which clinched a berth in the 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs on Friday, owns a 15-point edge over the next-closest team in the NHL standings.

* Kucherov established a franchise record for points in a season, eclipsing the previous mark of 108 set by Vincent Lecavalier in 2006-07 (52-56—108 in 82 GP). He became the first player on any team to record 110 or more points in a season since Canucks forward Henrik Sedin in 2009-10 (29-83—112 in 82 GP) en route to capturing the Art Ross Trophy.

* Tampa Bay’s 14-game run versus Detroit is the longest regular-season win streak against the Red Wings franchisein NHL history, eclipsing the previous mark of 13-0-0 set by the Oilers from March 19, 1983 – March 11, 1987 (DET: 0-13-0).

FLEURY PASSES PLANTE FOR EIGHTH PLACE ON ALL-TIME WINS LIST

Marc-Andre Fleury made 29 saves and the Golden Knights erupted for a five-goal first period to defeat the Canucks and extend their win streak to six games, tied for the longest active run in the NHL. Vegas improved to 38-26-5 (81 points) this season and occupies third place in the Pacific Division standings.

* Fleury earned the 438th regular-season win of his NHL career to pass Jacques Plante (437) for sole possession of eighth place on the League’s all-time list. Fleury leads all goaltenders with 34 wins this season (34-19-5; 2.48 GAA, .912 SV%, 8 SO) and has accounted for 89.5% of his team’s victories in 2018-19, the highest such percentage in the NHL.

GRABNER SCORES ANOTHER SHORTHANDED GOAL IN COYOTES WIN

Michael Grabner scored twice – including his League-leading fifth shorthanded goal of the season – to help the Coyotes improve to 8-1-0 in their last nine games. Arizona moved to 34-29-5 (73 points) overall this season and climbed within one point of idle Minnesota (33-28-8, 74 points), which occupies the final Wild Card spot in the Western Conference standings.

* The Coyotes rank second in the NHL with 14 shorthanded goals in 2018-19 and moved within one of matching their franchise record for most in a season, a mark set by the original Winnipeg Jets in 1988-89 (15). Grabner, meanwhile, sits two shorthanded goals shy of equaling the single-season franchise record for most by a Coyotes/Jets player, a mark set by Dave McLlwain in 1989-90 (7)

* Twenty of Grabner’s 166 career regular-season tallies have been shorthanded goals (12.0%). The highest such percentage in NHL history among players with at least 100 career regular-season goals belongs to Dave Poulin, who scored 39 of his 205 while shorthanded (19.0%).

SHARKS EXTEND WIN STREAK TO CLAIM FIRST PLACE IN WESTERN CONFERENCE

Kevin Labanc scored at 3:21 of overtime as the Sharks defeated the Blues to extend their win streak to four games. San Jose, which extended its home point streak to six games (5-0-1), improved to 41-19-8 (90 points) overall this season and leapfrogged idle Calgary (41-20-7, 89 points) for first place in the Western Conference standings.

* Martin Jones (17 saves) improved to 33-13-5 this season (2.89 GAA, .898 SV%, 2 SO), including wins in each of his last four appearances. His 33 wins are tied for the second-most in the NHL this season with Maple Leafs goaltender Frederik Andersen (33-13-4; 2.56 GAA, .924 SV%, 1 SO), who also backstopped his team to victory on Saturday.

* Joe Thornton (0-1—1) recorded his 1,467th career regular-season point (411-1,056—1,467 in 1,552 GP) and tied Stan Mikita (541-926—1,467 in 1,396 GP) for 14th place on the NHL’s all-time list.

DID YOU KNOW?

Sebastian Aho (30-47—77 in 68 GP) and Mikko Rantanen (30-56—86 in 69 GP) each scored to help the Hurricanes (37-24-7, 81 points; 3rd in Metropolitan Division) and Avalanche (30-27-12, 72 points; 10th in Western Conference) secure wins on Saturday, respectively.

* Aho and Rantanen hold a one-goal edge over Jets forward Patrik Laine (29-16—45 in 67 GP) and Panthers captain Aleksander Barkov (29-46—75 in 68 GP) for the most this season among Finnish-born players. Only five seasons in NHL history have concluded with three Finnish-born 30-goal scorers, most recently in 2005-06 when Teemu Selanne (40-50—90 in 80 GP), Olli Jokinen (38-51—89 in 82 GP) and Jere Lehtinen (33-19—52 in 80 GP) combined for the feat.

^No NHL season has ever concluded with four Finnish-born 30-goal scorers

SNEAK PEEK AT SUNDAY’S ACTION

OVECHKIN CLOSES IN ON 1,200-POINT MILESTONE

Alex Ovechkin (653-546—1,199 in 1,070 GP) can reach the 1,200-point milestone when the Metropolitan Division-leading Capitals (40-21-7, 87 points) host the Central Division-leading Jets (40-23-4, 84 points) at Capital One Arena. Washington can earn its seventh consecutive victory and match a season high for longest win streak, a mark set from Nov. 16-30, 2018 (7-0-0).

* Forty-eight players in NHL history have reached the 1,200-point milestone, including Penguins captain Sidney Crosby on Tuesday (442-761—1,203 in 929 GP). Ovechkin’s 653 goals would be the second-most in NHL history by a player at the time of their 1,200th career regular-season point, behind only Brett Hull (656-544—1,200 in 1,039 GP).
