JOSH “NORRISSEY” PROPELS JETS TO SEVEN-GOAL OUTING AT UNITED CENTER
Josh Morrissey (0-3—3) assisted on three of Winnipeg’s season-high seven goals, including a primary assist on the game winner as the Jets scored at least five goals in consecutive road games for fifth time in team history. The Jets/Thrashers franchise has never extended their streak to three straight contests as the visitor.

* Josh “Norrissey,” as he is now known among his teammates, has factored on each of Winnipeg’s past three game-winning goals after netting overtime winners on Nov. 21 and Nov. 25 (Nov. 23: 6-1 L at MIN). Only two defensemen in Jets/Thrashers history have factored on a longer stretch of the team’s winners: Dustin Byfuglien (0-5—5 from Dec. 9, 2011 – Feb. 2, 2012) and Alexei Zhitnik (1-3—4 from March 16-31, 2007 w/ ATL).

* Morrissey’s string of success in 2022-23 includes a 4-19—23 stat line through Winnipeg’s first 20 outings – the third-most assists among all defensemen behind Erik Karlsson (21 in 24 GP) and Quinn Hughes (21 in 18 GP). His 19 helpers are also the most by any Jets blueliner through 20 contests of a season.

While Erik Karlsson (0-2—2) played a part in San Jose’s game-tying goal with 5:15 remaining in regulation, Quinn Hughes (0-1—1) collected an assist on Andrei Kuzmenko’s tally 1:12 into overtime to guide the Canucks (9-10-3, 21 points) to their fifth win in six contests.

* Hughes (0-21—21 in 18 GP), who found the score sheet for the 15th time in 18 contests this season, has notched 167 assists through his first 223 career outings (19-167—186 in 223 GP). His 0.75 career assists per game since entering the NHL in 2018-19 is tied with Cale Makar (147 in 197 GP) for the highest such total among defensemen through that span (min. 25 GP).

* Meanwhile, Karlsson has two games remaining in November (Nov. 29 at MTL & Nov. 30 at TOR) and has currently registered 5-16—21 since Nov. 1 to become the first defenseman in Sharks history to register a 20-point month.

. . . WHILE BENIERS OUTDUELS ZEGRAS AS KRAKEN WIN FIFTH STRAIGHT
Matty Beniers (1-2—3) and Trevor Zegras (0-3—3) each had three-point nights but it was the Kraken rookie who prevailed, leading Seattle (13-5-3, 29 points) to its fifth straight win in a back-and-forth, nine-goal affair. The Kraken tied the longest win streak in franchise history and improved to 9-1-1 in November while the club’s .864 points percentage through that span trails only the Devils (.923) for the highest among all teams.

* Beniers, who became the first rookie to post a three-point game with the Kraken on Wednesday, recorded his third multi-point outing in four contests and fourth overall in 2022-23 – the most among all rookies. Beniers now has 7-11—18 (22 GP) on the season and has opened a five-point lead over Coyotes forward Matias Maccelli (1-12—13 in 18 GP) in the NHL’s rookie points race.

* On the other side, Zegras recorded his fourth career three-point game, tied with Ryan Getzlaf for the second most by a Ducks player at age 21 or younger and trailing only Paul Kariya (12 GP). It was also Zegras’ third career three-assist outing – the most by any Ducks skater before their 22nd birthday.

KAPRIZOV TIES FRANCHISE RECORD, SETS CAREER HIGH IN WIN

The Sunday edition of #NHLStats: Live Updates watched Kirill Kaprizov (1-2—3) extend his assist streak to eight games to tie a franchise record and establish a career high with a point in his ninth straight contest as Minnesota held off a late rally by Arizona.

NHL LEADERS READY TO TAKE TO THE ICE MONDAY

Several clubs and players having a November to remember will look to add to their totals Monday as each of the top two teams and the top two scorers so far this month take the ice during a six-game slate.

* The Devils (18-4-0, 36 points) can overtake the idle Bruins (18-3-0, 36 points) for first place in the NHL standings when they play their final game of November – a month in which they have posted a League-best 12 wins and 24 points so far. New Jersey can become the first team in NHL history to win at least 13 games in November. They also can equal a club record for wins in any calendar month – the Devils went 13-2-0 in March 2001, one of 14 instances of an NHL team claiming 13 victories in one month.

* The club with the second-most points so far this month will hit the ice for one of its two remaining contests before the calendar turns as Toronto takes its 9-1-3 November record (21 points) into Detroit to face the Red Wings – owners of a four-game winning streak and 4-0-1 record in their past five contests. Mitchell Marner will put his League-best point streak on the line as he aims to become the third Maple Leafs player with a point streak of at least 17 straight games. Marner also can become the first player in franchise history to factor on Toronto’s first goal in seven consecutive contests.

* The top two point-getters to date in November 2022 will hit the ice in St. Louis when Jason Robertson (14-11—25 in 13 GP) and Jamie Benn (10-11—21 in 13 GP) aim to add to their totals in Dallas’ final contest until Dec. 1. They already are the highest-scoring Stars duo in any calendar month, with their 46 combined points sitting behind only three pairs in franchise history: Tom McCarthy and Dino Ciccarelli in November 1983 (50 points in 13 GP w/ MNS); Dino Ciccarelli and Neal Broten in January 1984 (48 points in 14 GP w/ MNS); and McCarthy and Broten in November 1983 (47 points in 13 GP w/ MNS).
