* The Devils extended the NHL’s longest active win streak to 10 games – their third-longest run in franchise history – after a season in which three straight victories in a row was their most.

* Mitchell Marner established the third double-digit point streak of his career while Michael Bunting achieved a rare franchise feat after his two goals came in the opening and final minute of the second period.

* Five players reached milestones Tuesday, including Matthew Tkachuk who hit 400 career points, adding him and his father Keith’s names to a short list of father-son duos to each reach the mark.

MAKE THAT 10 STRAIGHT WINS FOR THE DEVILS
Jack Hughes (2-1—3) opened the scoring with his 50th career goal and ended the contest with a game-high three points to help the streaking Devils extend their League-leading winning streak to 10 contests – the lengthiest by any team this season and third longest in franchise history.

* Hughes (21 years, 185 days) became the fifth-youngest player in Devils/Scouts/Rockies history at the time of his 50th NHL goal, behind Kirk Muller (20 years, 263 days on Oct. 29, 1986), Wilf Paiement (21 years, 8 days on Oct. 24, 1976), Brendan Shanahan (21 years, 27 days on Feb. 19, 1990) and Nico Hischier (21 years, 28 days on Feb. 1, 2020).

6 – Goals scored to tie the game

5 – Comeback wins, with four of those coming consecutively (Nov. 3-10)

3 – Different goaltenders have collected wins (Vitek Vanecek: 7-0-0, Akira Schmid: 2-0-0 & Mackenzie Blackwood: 1-0-0)
2 – Contests were won in overtime with goals from Fabian Zetterlund and Nico Hischier

MAPLE LEAFS OFFENSE SHINES IN MURRAY’S RETURN TO PITTSBURGH
On the night Matt Murray (35 saves) made his first appearance in Pittsburgh since the Penguins traded the netminder ahead of the 2020-21 season, Michael Bunting (2-1—3) bookended the second period with goals in the opening and final minute while Mitch Marner (1-0—1) converted a highlight-reel play to lift the Maple Leafs to victory.

* Marner, the fifth player with a double-digit point streak in 2022-23, has recorded a 10-game run for the third time in his career (also 13 GP in 2021-22 & 11 GP in 2017-18) – tied with Auston Matthews (3x), Mats Sundin (3x) and Babe Dye (3x) for the second most in Maple Leafs history. Darryl Sittler (6x; last: 18 GP in 1977-78) is the only player with more.

MILESTONES APLENTY TUESDAY
Steven Stamkos, Matt Duchene, Jack Eichel and Matthew Tkachuk each reached milestones Tuesday as the Lightning, Predators and Panthers all collected wins:

* Stamkos (489-500—989 in 938 GP) factored on the overtime winner to hit the 500-assist milestone and joined Martin St. Louis (588) as the second player in Lightning history to record as many. He became the 11th active skater to reach the mark with a single franchise.

* Duchene posted 1-1—2 to help the Predators defeat the Wild and eclipse 700 career points in the process (298-403—701 in 921 GP). He became the second player from the 2009 NHL Draft to hit the mark, joining John Tavares (400-513—913 in 966 GP) who reached the 400-goal milestone Tuesday.

* Eichel scored his team-leading 10th goal of the season to boost his career totals to 163-237—400 (426 GP). Eichel, a native of North Chelmsford, Mass., tied Patrick Kane for the fourth-fewest games among active U.S.-born players to hit the mark, behind only Auston Matthews (372 GP) and Johnny Gaudreau (409 GP).

* Tkachuk (0-3—3) factored on three of Florida’s five goals to eclipse 400 NHL points (157-245—402 in 445 GP) and hit 20 on the season (5-15—20 in 14 GP). He became the second player in Panthers history to reach the mark in 14 games with the club, joining Pavel Bure (15-5—20 in 14 GP in 1998-99 – 1999-00).

ACCOMPLISHMENTS ACCUMULATED ON HOCKEY FIGHTS CANCER NIGHTS
The Penguins, Ducks and Blue Jackets all hosted their Hockey Fights Cancer Awareness Nights on Tuesday, with players in each contest achieving notable accomplishments following pre-game and in-game ceremonies.

* Seventeen-year-old Ginny Fronk rang the cancer survivor’s bell prior to puck drop after completing her final round of treatment at UPMC Children’s Hospital on Nov. 10 and watched Penguins captain Sidney Crosby record his seventh goal of the 2022-23 campaign. In the process, he boosted his career totals to 524-902—1,426 and surpassed Bryan Trottier (524-901—1,425) for sole possession of 17th place on the NHL’s all-time points list.

* Tatum Miller took part in the Ducks ceremonial face off along with her “miracle daughter”, Payton, who is now 11 years old after her mother was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive tumor during her pregnancy. Miller, now cancer free, saw Trevor Zegras (0-2—2) assist on the game-tying goal in the final minute of regulation and the overtime winner to record his 24th multi-point outing dating to last season – the most among all Ducks players over that span and six more than the next closest (Troy Terry: 18 GP).

* After the crowd came together in a moment of unity with lavender-based rally towels, the Blue Jackets withstood two multi-goal rallies from the Flyers and improved to 2-0-1 in their past three games. Vladislav Gavrikov (1-1—2) capped the contest with his second goal of the season – both of which have come in overtime (also Oct. 18 vs. VAN).

NURSE GIVES BACK, MAKES HOCKEY MORE ACCESSIBLE
The philanthropy work Darnell Nurse does to make hockey more accessible and to provide access to scholastic education is featured ahead of the Oilers game broadcast nationally on TNT. Nurse has been inspired to help children – including newcomers to Canada, marginalized communities and refugees – by his father, Richard, who was an immigrant from Trinidad and Tobago. His work has not only made hockey more accessible, but he’s created a scholarship to help improve access to post-secondary education.
