McDAVID SKATES IN 500TH GAME AND JOINS ELITE LIST OF PLAYERS...

Seven years and 31 days after making his NHL debut, Connor McDavid (1-1—2) skated in his 500th career game and posted a multi-point performance to boost his career totals to 252-472—724 – the sixth-most points in League history through as many contests. McDavid’s 724 points are also the second most through 500 NHL games among players selected No. 1 in the NHL Draft, behind only Mario Lemieux (971 on Feb. 22, 1992).

* The Oilers captain recorded his 472nd career assist and tied Bobby Orr for the fourth most in NHL history through 500 games played, behind only Wayne Gretzky (738), Lemieux (578) and Peter Stastny (493).

* McDavid also posted his 221st career multi-point outing, besting Sidney Crosby (214) and Alex Ovechkin (184) for the most among all active players through 500 NHL games.

… WHILE OVECHKIN CONTINUES HIS ASCENT OF NHL’S ALL-TIME LIST
Alex Ovechkin (1-1—2) factored on two his team’s five goals, including scoring the 788th of his career, as Washington held on to defeat Edmonton at Capital One Arena. The Capitals captain moved within 14 goals of surpassing Gordie Howe (801) for second place on the NHL’s all-time list.

* Ovechkin’s goal against Edmonton’s Stuart Skinner marked the 163rd different goaltender he has scored against in his career (for a total of 739 goals, plus 49 ENG); only Jaromir Jagr (178), Patrick Marleau (177) and Mark Messier (164) have solved as many netminders during the regular season.

BRUINS REMAIN UNDEFEATED AT TD GARDEN
Linus Ullmark fended off 25 of the 26 shots he faced, while Brad Marchand (0-2—2), Patrice Bergeron (1-0—1), David Krejci (0-1—1) and David Pastrnak (0-1—1) each found the score sheet to help the Bruins (11-2-0, 22 points) earn their seventh straight win at TD Garden. Boston’s seven-game season-opening home win streak is the second longest in franchise history behind an 8-0-0 run in 1983-84. The Bruins and Panthers remain the only two teams without a loss at home in 2022-23.

* Bergeron, Marchand and Krejci factored on the same goal for the ninth time, yet each found the score sheet in the same game for the 176th instance, improving Boston’s record to 144-19-13 in those contests. Meanwhile, the trio of Bergeron, Marchand and Pastrnak each tallied a point in the same game for the 161st time – for an all-time record of 117-27-17.

ISLANDERS’ COMEBACK WIN FEATURED IN #NHLSTATS: LIVE UPDATES
The Monday edition of #NHLStats: Live Updates featured the Islanders erasing a two-goal deficit to defeat the Flames, courtesy of a Noah Dobson goal with just over a minute remaining in overtime. There are only two teams with more multi-goal comeback wins than New York this season (also Oct. 29): Anaheim and Chicago (both w/ 3).

* Dobson’s goal marked his second career overtime winner, tied with Ryan Pulock for the most among Islanders defensemen since he entered the NHL in 2019-20.

A total of 22 teams are in action during Tuesday’s slate, which includes a pair of NHL on TNT games with the Lightning (7-4-1, 15 points) welcoming the Oilers (7-6-0, 14 points) to AMALIE Arena and the Kraken (7-4-2, 16 points) hosting the Predators (5-6-1, 11 points) at Climate Pledge Arena.

* Nikita Kucherov has an active 10-game point streak dating to Oct. 15 (6-13—19), including a goal in each of the Lightning’s last six contests. He can match the longest point streak by a player this season, achieved by Devils forward Jesper Bratt from Oct. 13 to Nov. 3 (5-12—17 in 11 GP). Kucherov’s six-game goal streak is the NHL’s lengthiest in 2022-23Jason Robertson (6-5—11 in 5 GP) can also extend his current run to six contests Tuesday.

* Kucherov (2018-19), Connor McDavid (2021-22, 2020-21, 2017-18 & 2016-17) and Leon Draisaitl (2019-20) have combined for each of the last six Art Ross Trophy wins. The Lightning-Oilers matchup at AMALIE Arena is set to mark the League’s first contest to feature each of the last six Art Ross Trophy winners since Game 5 of the 2001 Conference Finals, when the Devils defeated Jaromir Jagr (2000-01, 1999-00, 1998-99, 1997-98 & 1994-95), Mario Lemieux (1996-97 & 1995-96) and the Penguins to advance to the Stanley Cup Final.

* Seattle currently occupies second place in the Pacific Division behind League-leading Vegas (11-2-0, 22 points), which can extend its win streak to eight games Tuesday. The Kraken are 4-0-0 in their last four contests dating to Oct. 29 and can record five consecutive victories for the first time in franchise history.

* Vince Dunn (1-1—2 in 4 GP), Jamie Oleksiak (1-1—2 in 4 GP) and Carson Soucy (1-0—1 in 4 GP) have combined for three goals during Seattle’s winning streak. Kraken defensemen have scored 10 goals overall this season (10-19—29 in 13 GP), which trails only the Sharks (12-20—32 in 14 GP) and Islanders (11-17—28 in 13 GP) for the highest total by a team in 2022-23.

Thanks to the NHL PR department for the information above.

In the first replay, the camera is isolated on McDavid, notice his legs churning at the blue line to build up  speed as he anticipates the pass.  Remarkable.
