There will be changes among the Devils' forwards next season as general manager Lou Lamoriello looks to bring in some scoring, but one player who has earned a chance to come back is right winger Jordin Tootoo.
A castoff when he signed a training camp tryout agreement with the Devils, Tootoo has made an impact with his speed and grit to the point where his teammates feel he deserves to be signed for another season.
"Absolutely. I think so," Adam Henrique said. "He's a hard-working guy and everybody feeds off his energy. He's been a leader in the room since he's been here. He's a leader on the ice.
"He goes out there and does the hard job. When things aren't going well he gets a fight going and gets the boys going. I think he's been huge for us all year. We'll wait and see what happens going forward, but the guys love him in the room."
