Minor Three Team Trade Involving Montreal, Nashville And Arizona

MONTREAL– Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin announced Friday the acquisition of defenseman Victor Bartley and forward John Scott from the Arizona Coyotes, in return for defenseman Jarred Tinordi and forward Stefan Fournier. Bartley and Scott will both join the Canadiens’ AHL farm team in St. John’s.

Bartley, 27, appeared in one game with Nashville this season, totaling two hits and five blocked shots. He added one assist and 10 penalty minutes in 14 games with the AHL’s Milwaukee Admirals.


Nashville, Tenn. (January 15, 2016) – Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has acquired defenseman Stefan Elliott from the Arizona Coyotes in exchange for defenseman Victor Bartley.

Elliott, 24 (1/30/91), has skated in 82 career NHL games, posting 24 points (8g-16a) in parts of five seasons with the Colorado Avalanche and Arizona Coyotes. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound defenseman has spent the 2015-16 campaign with Arizona, notching six points (2g-4a), 10 hits and 16 blocked shots in 19 games.

GLENDALE, ARIZONA --- Arizona Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have recalled forward John Scott from the Springfield Falcons, the club’s American Hockey League affiliate (AHL). The Coyotes have also assigned defenseman Stefan Elliott to the Falcons.

The 33-year-old Scott has collected 0-1-1 in 11 games with the Coyotes this season. The 6-foot-8, 260-pound native of Edmonton, Alberta has recorded 5-6-11 and 542 penalty minutes (PIM) in 285 career NHL games. Scott signed as a free agent on July 10, 2015.

The 24-year-old Elliott has appeared in 19 games and registered 2-4-6 with four PIM with the Coyotes. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound native of Vancouver, British Columbia was originally drafted by the Colorado Avalanche in the second round (49th overall) in the 2009 Entry Draft.
