waiting patiently for the day when the politicizing of the NHL retreats to the shadows, and with it the pride issue..

I'm unsure the debate is about a "night" vs. forcing players to participate by wearing jerseys, that's how I see it anyway, certainly where its gone sideways.

To that end, I'm not sure I've ever a "1st responders" jersey, doesn't mean it didn't happen, but I assume we're talking police specifically because extremes of one party is against police, I'm not sure I see a lot either way towards ambulance or fire.  So what NHL team wore police jerseys?

I have seen camo jerseys, but I am curious, in your opinion, which party does not support our military?

I can't speak for everyone, but "my thing" is that all businesses should stay out of politics to the extent they can, focus on delivering whatever good or service they deliver to whomever would like to purchase it.

No need to get all upset and turn to denying xmas gifts to the poor because you tried a flawed strawman.

LGBTetc is 100% political. They do not recognize differing opinions.

The NHL asked for this.

The LGBT+ community does not think or act as a monolith. Get a grip.

This is such a simple issue. It doesnt matter what your reason is, if you want to skip a pride night or a military night, thats your choice and you shouldnt have to answer as to why. And if you do answer, the consequences are on you.

If you think Putin is gonna get you or your family? Ok

Religious reasons? Ok

The only people making this a big deal are the people that want to brow beat you into submission. The story isnt about the outpouring of support from most players and every team on these nights, which it should be.

The players refusing to participate, religious groups protesting, etc. arent souring these nights. Its the people that want compliance. And they think theyll get it by tearing you down.

Chetbiv

We agree on this almost completely. Dont want to do Pride or military or police or MLK or charity night or whatever it might be? Ok, just say so.

Say why or dont.Thats a players right, just like its my right as a fan to evaluate their reasoning and comment accordingly. I think thats the part most are ignoring. I dont care about compliance or submission, anyone talking like that just sounds like an addled Boomer to me.

Decisions have consequences, do they not?

And to be clear, I am in no way a religious person. Let private citizens be private citizens unless they trample on your rights.

I bet Bill Daly is a good guy - but - when did he become a geo-political expert?

Would Bill Daly participate in the event if his family were threatened?

Have no clue what is true or not true about this - but I have to side with the player here.
