The Boston Globe's Amalie Benjamin reports that one of the best "value" free agents out there will definitely be on the market come July 1st:
The Bruins will not make a contract offer to center Carl Soderberg, according to his agent, J.P. Barry.
Soderberg, 29, whose three-year, $3.025 million contract expires next month, was told by the Bruins that they “can’t make an offer at this juncture,” according to Barry.
Soderberg scored 13 goals and had 31 assists last season, playing in all 82 games.
Gregory Campbell, Daniel Paille, Adam McQuaid, and Matt Bartkowski are also in the final year of their contracts and also would become unrestricted free agents July 1.
And "Soda Berg" is what the Boston announcers' accents render upon "Sod-er-berg."
