About The Nick Bonino Signing In Nashville

Nashville, Tenn. (July 1, 2017) - Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced Saturday that the club has signed center Nick Bonino to a four-year, $16.4 million contract.

Bonino, 29 (4/20/88), is a two-time Stanley Cup Champion, having spent the past two seasons with the Pittsburgh Penguins, and recorded 18 goals and 37 points in 80 games in 2016-17 on his way to winning the Cup for the second consecutive season. Since 2009-10, the 6-foot-1, 196-pound centerman has posted 187 points (75g-112a) in 407 NHL games with Anaheim, Vancouver and Pittsburgh, including a career-high 22 goals and 49 points in 2013-14 with the Ducks. A native of Hartford, Connecticut, Bonino earned a bronze medal with Team USA at the 2015 World Championship, posting two goals and four points in 10 games.

Selected in the sixth round (173rd overall) in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft by San Jose, Bonino skated three seasons at Boston University, capturing an NCAA title in 2009 with the Terriers. Bonino was a point-per-game player at the collegiate level, recording 45 goals and 117 points in 116 NCAA games. Bonino was teammates with Predators defenseman Yannick Weber during the 2014-15 season in Vancouver.
