from Matthew DeFranks of the Dallas News,
Throughout the season, Stars goaltender Ben Bishop has represented stability for Dallas. He quelled slow starts and fortified strong finishes, kept the Stars afloat as they searched for offense and propelled them when it arrived. He was the team's best player and arguably the best goaltender in the league.
During Monday night's 3-2 loss in Game 3 to Nashville, Bishop's performance was uncharacteristically loose and abnormally messy, allowing three goals on 28 shots, including a pair of long-range shots from bad angles.
The loss put the Stars in a 2-1 series deficit with Game 4 on Wednesday night in Dallas.
"You know what, I don't know if we're playing if it's not for our goalies and especially Ben," Stars coach Jim Montgomery said. "Our players got to pick him up for how many times he's picked us up, right? Would Bish like to have some of those back? Yeah, but they constantly have traffic. You got to give Nashville credit. They're getting to that net-front and causing havoc."
