5 Reasons Why People Love Ice Hockey

07/11/2022 at 8:07pm EDT

The world loves sports. Most people love to watch athletics or team games. Hundreds of different sports use different strategies and tactics to win. However, of all sports, none is like hockey. In this article, we will look at five reasons why there are so many fans of this sport in

  1. Non-Stop Action

One of the best things about hockey is the action. In many sports such as tennis, there are many stoppages in the game which slow down the action and result in a lot of breaks. There is certainly action in these sports, but it breaks down into frequent breaks.

There is no such thing in hockey. Although breaks for periods, shootouts, timeouts and goals stop the game, it remains very dynamic. Players move fast, line changes are instant, and there is always something to excite you like at Zodiac Casino.

  1. The Resilience of Players

Hockey players will continue to play after the puck has been hit in the face, they were hit with a stick, or experienced a body hit against the boards. In hockey you can often see:

  • missing teeth;

  • broken noses;

  • bruises under the eyes.

Compare this to other sports where players will stay on the ground for minutes after a little contact. Playing with injuries, pain, and discomfort is difficult, but hockey players always do it.

  1. Unique Traditions

Traditions and superstitions are part of any sport. However, ice hockey has special features. Take, for example, the unique tradition of growing beards during the playoffs. It's almost an NHL-wide tradition that players of all teams don't shave during their team's playoffs.

Many players may also have traditions such as special handshakes with teammates or the same meal before every game. Some of them can also be very strange, such as tapping the stick a certain number of times and rolling on the ice in the same pattern during the warm-up.

  1. Game Speed

Since the game is played on ice and the players move on skates, the speed of hockey is much faster than in any other team sport. Players move faster and even the puck moves faster than most balls in other sports. It is never boring and if you blink you might miss out on something spectacular. Players move on the ice at a speed of more than 30 km/h.

  1. Detailed Strategies

When some people watch hockey, they just assume it's a group of guys skating and hitting each other. However, there is much more skill and strategy in the game. A lot depends on which lanes to play at what points in the game and who starts the game. Teams always have to decide which players work best with others, and lineups are often redesigned to find the best chemistry possible.

As you can see, there are many reasons why hockey is such a popular and beloved sport all over the world.
